With regards to this life-threatening problem, some of the rural area community has been educated to boil their water before it is being used in cooking or drinking. This is an alarming problem because there have been cases of patients infected with disease originating from water-borne carrier could not survive the disease and ended up in fatality. While this method can filter coarse sediments like dirt and sand, it is not effective in filtering microorganisms like bacteria, protozoa or viruses.
